The Vision: Reimagining the Second Floor 

When the Client approached us for the A+M Razon Residence, the brief was clear but challenging: they needed a new master's bedroom on the second floor, but didn't want to cpmpletely sacrifice their existing outdoor space. Additionally, the ground level carport needed a polished, modernized look to tie the whole property together.


The Challenge: From Utility to Tranquility

The existing second floor consisted of a small bedroom and a massive, wrap around balcony. As seen in the Site photos, this expansive outdoor area had essentially become a sprawling utility zone - primarily used for washing and hanging laundry.


The goal was to reclaim this underutilized footprint and elevate the home's design, transforming a purely functional, everyday Philippine suburban setting into a refined and cohesivemodern sanctuary.

The Solution: "Small Changes, Big Impact"


By carefully redistributing the second-floor floor plan, we managed to satisfy all the client's requirements without compromizing the home's open feel.


  • The Balcony lounge (38.5 sq.m): Instead of losing the balcony entirely, we right sized it. The remaining area weretransitioned away from a cutterred laundry area into a dedicated outdoor lounge. 
  • The Carport and Facade: To ground the renovation, the carport received a significant facelift. The new design features sturdy, clean lined structural columns and a modern flat canopy that perfectly complements the updated second story.
  • The master's bedroom (22sq.m): We carved out a generous portion of the old balcony to create a spacious, private master suite. The interior design leans into a bright, airy and modern aesthetic.
